For those who need to hear this – It is time to grow up!

With anything in life, there is bound to be an infancy stage, a beginning; a genesis. Even as Christians, we have either gone through our individual infancy stage of sonship or are presently going through it. For believers, this infancy stage is called Nepios.

Synomyns for Nepios include infant, a little child, a minor and not of age, one who is unskilled and untaught; childish. And just like a physical infant, Nepios need milk – spiritual milk that is.

Spiritual milk – the fundamentals of doctrine (1 Corinthians 3:2; Hebrews 5:12-13), and of the unadulterated word of God (1 Peter 2:2). Hebrews 6:1-2 explains the basic aspect of doctrinal spiritual milk as understanding the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds, placing our faith in God; instructions about baptisms; the laying on of hands; the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgement’.

Galatians 4:1 says “now I say, as long as the heir is a child, he does not differ at all from a slave although he is owner of everything“.

You cannot expect to be trusted if you refuse to grow up!

A ‘heir‘ is a person who inherits and continues the work of a predecessor. A person legally entitled to the property or rank of another on that person’s death.

Therefore, as a child though a heir cannot inherit or continue the work of Christ as the firstborn; the forerunner in establishing God’s perfect will and kingdom. The responsibilities of a heir cannot be given to a child even though he is a co-heir with Christ. (Romans 8:17)

Being a child is one thing but to remain a child is very costly.

So, grow up – you have been a nepios far too long!
